Carina “Caiden” Moreno, Santa Paula High School, Class of 2019

“When I started the CAIC Program I didn’t talk to anyone except people from my school. This Program introduced me to people just like me from all over Southern California. This experience helped me get out of my shell. I learned a lot about my personal interests and career goals. The networking luncheon was amazing. My mom and I were able to talk to a professional that shares my career interests. The professional explained to us the steps I need to take to reach my educational and career goals. I want to become a counselor to help people. My dream is to go to San Diego State University because I love the environment and want to study Psychology and/or Human Services.”

Juan Magana

Santa Paula High School, Class of 2016

“The CAIC Program was amazing. Juan Magaña wanted to be an engineer, but he wasn’t sure if he could do it. This Program helped him change his attitude about what was possible. When Juan told me he was applying to five UC schools and three CSU schools I was excited for him. He was hesitant which university to attend because he was admitted to two UC schools and one CSU. The Program helped him refine his college choice. Both he and his parents now feel comfortable with his decision to attend UC Irvine. Juan is confident that he can succeed and his parents feel empowered to help him achieve his goals. The CAIC Program is priceless.”Richard “Rick” Castañiero, Santa Paula High School Science Teacher
